A downloadable mod for Windows

Star Knightess Aura is an RPG with nsfw erotic content, made with RPG Maker MZ. The game features themes of corruption, brainwashing, mental changes, possession, mind control, and NTR. All characters are 18+.

This is the installer for the Star Knightess Aura Restoration Patch. This is not the main game. To use this patch, you will need to buy the game on Steam.

Alternatively, you can also buy the game uncensored on Itch:

Installation Instructions:

- Use the patch.exe to automatically install the restoration patch through an installer.

- In case the installer fails / you use Linux / or you don't feel safe running an .exe, you can download the patch in .zip form. Extract the zip file into the Steam folder for Star Knightess Aura.

In either case, the expected result is that you will have a folder Star Knightess Aura/mods/adult-content.

Can I get a steam key for my copy of Star Knightness on itch.io?

What do I have to do?

I have improved the patch.exe so it works more like the previous one and the target directory is the Star Knightess Aura steam folder.
It will then search the mods folder by itself, no need for you to bother with that anymore in case you want to switch the target folder.

Should be the best of both worlds now.

I'm completely lost with the patch, before i just ran it and the content was there, but now with the new one it just pops up with "mods/js/meta.json", "mods/audio/meta.json", "mods/data/meta.json", "mods/image/meta.json", "mods/meta.json/meta.json" everytime i load the game up. no adult content and no toggle for it either.

Any help in what to do in order to fix this? I do have the game on steam and on a different ssd, but the patch worked fine when it was version 1.0.0b

I forgot to add that the game doesnt show any images when i load my save either, just pops up with this message "data/mods/Meta.json/Meta.json"

Could you describe how your mods folder looks like?

In theory it should still be as simple as run patch (if everything went right)

i just ran the patch like the 1.0.0b patch but for some reason it didnt work the same. I also tried reinstalling the game and doing again but still did the same, i then tried the .zip version and it was the same messages as the .exe

I have been able to replicate such an error message if the directory structure ends ups looking like this mods/mods/adult-content but it should be mods/adult-content

Which form of patching did you use, the exe or the zip file?
I believe this can happen if you unzip into the mods folder instead of the game folder.

I dont have a folder that says adult-content. its just a "mods" file with 5 files and a json labed: "js" file, "audio" file, "data" file, "img" file, "sample-mods" file, "meta.json" inside the "mods" file

What is your current game version on steam?

Could you perhaps join the Discord and post a screenshot of this?
I have a hard time imagining this state

I'm not sure how it happened,
but I believe the issue is that all those files should be in a folder called "adult-content" in the mods folder.

EDIT: I have updated the description for using the zip file so it's clear one only has to unzip the file into the game's Steam folder. No more manual copy&pasting after extraction necessary!

Here's what worked for me because I was also having difficulty (on steamdeck):

Uninstall the game in steam

Delete the "Star Knightess Aura" folder from "/Home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common"

Install the game again in steam (So you have a completely fresh correct folder structure)

Unzip the patch into a test folder (e.g. /Home/Downloads/test) AND MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "PRESERVE PATHS WHEN EXTRACTING", do not click "Extraction into subfolder:"

Double check the folder structure is correct:

When you know the structure is correct, then copy the "mods" folder you just unzipped in the test folder into /Home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Star Knightess Aura/

Click "Write into" when copying

If it worked Aura will be naked on the menu screen.

(Thanks for your hard work aura-dev)

Hopefully the last time to reinstall the external patch (unless of course actually new h-content to restore comes out):

I have implemented a modding system where the adult content patch is effectively just another mod.

After installing, you will find a "adult-content" folder in the game's "mods" folder.

THANKS

I don't understand where to put the file. I let install at least 14 times no button to remove the censorship. I don't understand my mistake

I have improved the layout of the zip file:

Before that you had to copy paste the contents into the Star Knightess Aura Folder. Now extracting it into the game folder should now always put it into the right location.

Are all the scenes implemented yet, or is this a bug in the steam patch?

I visited the hermit and the formula seller a second time, but the scene seemed to be skipped?

All scenes are implemented. Most likely need to reapply the patch.

Okay, I tried the patch.exe this time, and I got the missing scenes. Thanks!

I thought it was because I used the patch-windows.zip, but I just saw that there was an update yesterday. ^^''

Great game, by the way! Even though I get a bit lost sometimes, and those bosses are really tough, even on Explorer difficulty damn!

The story and concept are great, and I’ll definitely keep following your work!

Hi, loving the game so far, I do wish however that there had been some kind of disclaimer on the steam page that there is a patch. I have put 10 hours into a save and am only now learning that I was playing the version without enabled adult content. I do think that you should make the adult content filter be there by default on the steam version, just have it set to off by default. Thats my opinion at least.

Developers are not allowed to post about it on the steam forums / or anywhere in the steam community.
I am also not allowed to imply that it's a censored version or make features that do so (like a flag that an option that you can't turn on)

Well, As dev said, you can't even post link to steam community or steam review , or you would get ban by steam . Player would get community ban for a long time

Hi yall! I spent about an hour trying to get the patch to work and found a way that works for me if you're also running the game on a second drive from your main steam directory.

You can pick which folder you want to use when running the installer, and if you navigate to the proper folder location when running the .exe it should work! Hope this helps and Happy Valentines <3

I am working on a way to reduce the number of times the patch has to be installed. Currently, I believe it's the version change itself thats triggering a conflict with the steam update, but I should have a solution for that.

It will definitely be necessary one more time, but then hopefully only if actually conflicting content is changed.

Hey! Awesome game, but been wondering, are there any plans for H content with Alicia?

Work for me, I copy all files except js file then copy adult content option java file inside js/plugins/auramz files and last copy plugins java file to js files.

Edit: When I copy and paste whole files first time, it is not working for me.

The patch doesn't work for me, I tried both the zip and exe.
I tested it by doing the guard lewd events, it just skipped the adult stuffs to aura being mad at guard.

Could you check in Options if you can see an "Adult Content" option and see if it's turned to true?

there's no adult content option after I downloaded the patch.

Same here, made sure it was in the folder and everything.

Very strange, if there isn't even an adult content option it seems that the patch installation has somehow not worked.

I had the same issue and was able to resolve it - the patch wizard assumes that your game data is in a certain location, but I have my steam games on a second hard drive, so the wizard was trying to change files on Local Disk (C:) when it should have been changing the files on (D:). Maybe other people who are having the same issues also have their Steam files somewhere atypical?

Good to know, I thought I implemented it in a way where it looks up your steam location

(works on my setup where my steam games are located on D)

but it must be failing to recognize the correct location in some cases then

I think I might have a few games running on C because it's a solid state drive, but D is my default location, so that could have something to do with it.

The patcher doesn’t detect the install folder most other patchers do after you have ran the game at least once. So it always wants to install it in the folder you would have always used default settings to install Steam and never added an extra install folder.

I can also report that I have a C:\Steam(main Steam) folder

And a T:\SteamLibrary (external drive, game is installed here) folder

But the patch defaults to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Knightess Aura" (Totally wrong,  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" doesn't exist).

Yeah, I have mine installed at E:\Steam and it isn't finding it.

From what I'm seeing on stackoverflow, you'll want to first get the Steam install location from the registry:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Valve\Steam\InstallPath

Then, you can get the library paths from:
\Steam\SteamApps\libraryfolders.vdf

There's a sample python script here (needs to be modified to use the Steam InstallPath from the registry):
https://stackoverflow.com/a/39557723

the libraryfolders.vdf looks like a JSON that can hold multiple library configs. For example on my system:

"libraryfolders"
{
"0"
{
"path" "E:\\Steam"
"label" ""
"contentid" "xxxxxxxx"
"totalsize" "0"
"update_clean_bytes_tally" "2147829949"
"time_last_update_verified" "1739270362"
"apps"
{
"228980" "423466214"
"281990" "22729289796"
"289070" "29135479543"
"321060" "642708774"
"867210" "2274391871"
"908070" "490324899"
"990080" "76500141990"
"1203620" "35390308344"
"1268590" "6750084266"
"1383680" "583123577"
"1393370" "4328293065"
"1827650" "640540130"
"1958220" "11647855498"
"2026000" "3291908994"
"2135150" "0"
"2407360" "15027504367"
"2594920" "956356683"
"3065170" "24976820946"
"3107230" "12519113988"
}
}
}

Since there could be multiple libraries, you might want to also confirm that the appID for Star Knightess Aura ("1827650") is also in the "apps" section for the library (if more than just "0" in the root element of "libraryfolders").

Hm problem is I would need to achieve that using the makensis script language

I think I managed to integrate the logic into my NSIS script.

I was able to solve this for my computer - see my other comment for details!

I don't know how to edit stuffs like game files to make it works so I guess I'll just wait for future patch update if there's one coming.

Yep same for me. I overwrote the game's files with the zipped files and there's no adult content setting in the options menu

If I applied the patch before the most recent Steam update, do I have to do anything after the Steam update?

yes
