The dream of not needing a hotfix was short lived. It appears due to quest ID mixups the quests Journey Of A Hero and Special Study Program share the same quest ID, which leads to various problematic behavior if you are doing them at the same time.

I tried to introduce a migration rule to uncorrupt this, but it's fairly complex so it's possible that this fix might also break something... Be warned. That being said, I also figured out a solution to help those who had their saves corrupted in 0.28.0 regarding the corrupted costume variable and added a migration rule for it.

Now, let's see if I need to make another hotfix when I wake up tomorrow :'D. I wish save corrupting bugs wouldn't occur this often, but it's pretty clear to me now that this will most likely happen again. The growing game size just makes it impossible to detect all variations and orders quests and events can be done in and then side effects that only manifest in very specific orders / circumstances remaing undected for quite some time.

For reference, the bug this hotfix releases was technically in the game since prerelease-1 of 0.29.0! Anyways, I hope the hotfix doesn't break anything and let's see if we can keep it to just one hotfix. :'D
