We move closer to the end of Chaper 2-B bit by bit! This month saw progress on multiple fronts; including side content such as the slime summoner club, but mostly focusing on main content on all three main fronts that is: The northern storyline in Winterfall, the southern storyline in Verdeaux and the corruption storyline in the real world.

In numbers we have 2 new character artworks, 1 new H-CG, 2 new lewd scenes, 4 new real world corruption scenes, two new completable memory manipulations, 1 new quest and a bunch of other small stuff!

As usual, in this update, I will be giving a summary on the changes, the details can be found in the weekly devlog reports. For the new content this week, I will also be giving as usual a bit more indepth focus.

The Winterfall storyline is now about 70% complete with the supporting demons becoming fightable bossess as of this week and most of the prisoners now being resucable. There are still quite a few missing I didn't get to, but it might be fine anyways since I would like some of them to give information of the yet to be implemented Demon General battle. I hope I can finish off the Winterfall part next month in one dev week, although it might be cutting it a bit just a little bit close. But we will see. For now, the main point here is that most of the content aside from the actual final boss battle is completable now

Moving onto the real world storyline, I finished the remaining prep work to get the storyline that will lead to the first sex scene with Richard (and mark the end of Chapter 2-B in the real world) going! Finishing off the corruption storyline within one dev week might be a bit ambitious since there are still a couple of other events I need to intermix - for example a second round of Richard and Rose sex scene, who also got a bit of a story update this round -  but we are getting really close. George's storyline has been mostly setup since last update and with this update, the Richard side has also moved into position.


Aaand then finally we have quite some more content in Verdeaux. First of all, you can now find the Slime Summoner Club in the Magic Academy. Which means new powerful upgrades for your slime, in particular Summon Slime II turning your small slimie into a Medium Slimie capable of getting more EXP per feed and learning rank II skills. And of course you can also continue the slime lewd events now and get yourself the Bonding II and Bonding III powerup!

And then finally we have the content I was working on this week, which, just as a warning, involved quite a few stubs. The Entertainment Den, where you will be lead by Desmond upon discussing the Reverse Summoning Ritual with the group, will give access to a new location that is kind of supposed to be the Vice equivalent to the Lewd focused Pleasure District+Brothel. You can kind of think of this location relating to the brothel like the slavery oriented Congregation branch in Nephlune relates to the Underground Bar. It's one of the locations I was honestly close to cutting out and distributing the planned Vice content to other places, but also thinking about post 1.0 content, having a dedicated location is definitely too handy to pass up on. 

Well, for now there isn't really anything to do in this location as it's mostly setup, with the maps only being a sketch state from me and still needing to be processed by our mapper. But if you ever wondered if you can do anything evil with those Soul-Contracts from your friends that have been sitting around in your inventory, this is most likely where it will happen. Also there will most likely be some sort of repeatable Vice action here with a higher base Vice value - in the future. :'D

Anyways, Soul-Contracts also bring me to the screenshot. In the newest quest you can face the Entertainment Mage in a wager. Currently there is only one contract to choose from as I only got to implementing the one that I found most interesting. This one forcing Aura to work in the brothel as a prostitute for a certain number of times while sharing her profits with the Entertainment Den. Usually, I try to avoid "defeat" style content, but I feel like here it's just appropriate, and it doesn't lock any actual content behind it; just gives you a complusion to take already existing content. So basically kind of similar to how curses work.


The battle in which the wager is carried out is also a new unique format, where you won't just have to focus on winning, but also achieving minor feats during combat - such as dealing 1000+ damage or killing all enemies within a single turn. I admittedly have not fine tuned the "applause" that you get for each achieved feat, as I only finished implenting the quest today. It took me quite some time to figure out the details. Especially since I went back and forth like three times whether this quest should be mandatory or optional. In the end I decided to go with optional, as I had some issues whether Aura would want to even seek out a favor from the Entertainment Mage who uses Soul-Contracts, so it's now a decision in the hands of the players. 

In the future I would like to add an option to challenge the Entertainment Mage to another wager, this time forcing him to stop his business. This would also give an opportunity to reuse the battle format of this quest at least once. Well, my descriptions here might sound a bit weird, it's probably best if you just try it out yourself. :'D

Oh yeah, also we have a couple minor balancing changes. Mostly boosting some corrupt options. 1500 Gold seemed a bit low to me as Emergency Funds for the Congregation and also the chest of a city lord only containing 2000 Gold was quite low. Most of these values came from the vice chests being added very early in Chapter 2. With the full knowledge of the price development deep into Chapter 2-B, I have updated the chests and doubled their values. In addition the minigame of finding the corresponding keys no longer creates Corruption as I felt that made doing these Vice choices a tad bit too bad. Especially the vice chest of Lord Nephlune.

 Maleficum also got a small boost by having to +3 Corruption reverted to +2. I found +2 a bit too low since getting all those offensive stats is pretty crazy, on the other hand +3 was a bit too much. Wish there was +2.5 :'D, but for now we will be going back to +2 as ATK focused builds have shown to scale a worse into the later game than MATK focused builds. 

And then there is also a small adjustment in the Underground City where you can now earlier acquire Shadowcloak and Horror as the Trust requirement has been lowered to 50. This makes it possible for also a non-lewd player to obtain the discounted Shadowcloak if they took all the corrupt options of selling all the formulas to the dealer. Also there is a minor NPC in Nephlune now that will tell you that you can get the Shadowcloak spell for cheap in the Underground Spellshop, just to have some more signposting so you know about this option to the expensive tutoring option in the church.

Alright, and that's it for this month! Next month I will pretty much hard-focus on the content that will finish Chapter 2-B. But more on that on the upcoming project plan post.
